"Pittsburg circa 1993"

Shot During the Summer of 1993.

Winter Arbor

"Winter Arbor"

Taken during the winter of 2001 on Mission Peninsula near Traverse City, Michigan. Ektachrome E100VS with a Minolta Maxxum 9.

This Old Stump "This Old Stump"

In 1999 my wife and I went for a walk on an awesome fall day. On a hill in the woods we came across this old stump. Looked like a good shot so I took it. Ektachrome E100VS.

Wooly Irish Rainbow "Wooly Rainbow"

In 1998 my wife and I woke up after a great nights sleep at a B&B outside Dingle and looked out of the window. Rain and sun, a classic combo for our first Irish rainbow. I ran out to the back of the B&B and was very happy to capture this image. Agfa Ultra 50.

Platt River Sunset I "Platt River Sunset I"

Over looking the Platt River and Lake Michigan. Captured on Kodachrome 64 with my Minolta X700 in Program Mode with a Vivitar Series I 28-105. No exposure compensation was used so the sky remains rich with color.

Platt River Sunset II "Platt River Sunset II"

Same as above over looking the Platt River and Lake Michigan. Captured on the same roll of Kodachrome 64 with my Minolta X700. The sky is underexposed but the image gains some saturation as a result.

Techpan Tree "Pan Tree"

In a park a 10 or so minute walk from my home exists this tree. It seemed to make a perfect shot. The large version shows the sun glinting from behind the tree. Taken in the winter of 1998 on Kodak Techincal Pan Film using my Canonet G-III 17.

Winter Vineyard on Techpan "Winter Vineyard"

This a view from one of the highest points on Mission Peninsula north of Traverse City, MI. In the larger view, notice the horse outside the barn. Taken in the winter of 1998 on Kodak Tech Pan Film using my little Canonet G-III 17.

Out House "Out House"

During a ride on the Algoma Central Snow Train I managed to catch this little rest stop. The image was a little underexposed do to my not compensating for the snow. Oh-well, a little digital help and everything was ok. Kodak PJ400.

Irish Atlantic "Irish Atlantic"

Over looking the Atlantic Ocean from the top of the Cliffs of Moher in Ireland. The film was Fuji Velvia. The camera was a Minolta X700 in Program Mode with a Vivitar Series I 28-105. Two scans were combined to bring out all the impact of the slide.

Bunratty Abby "Bunratty Abby"

Near the rear of the folk village at Bunratty Castle was this great scene. Two scans using differant scanner exposures of the same Kodak E100VS slide were combined to improve shadow detail. Also taken with a Minolta X700 in Program Mode with a Vivitar Series I 28-105 and a polarizer.

P Mac Nanara & Son Pub at Bunratty Castle

"Irish Pub"

These gents were enjoying a pint in the sunshine at the P Mac Nanara & Son Pub in the folk village at Bunratty Castle. Two scans using differant scanner exposures of the same Kodak E100VS slide were combined to improve shadow detail. Also taken with a Minolta X700 in Program Mode with a Vivitar Series I 28-105 and a polarizer.

Beaver Wake in Brown Bridge Pond "Beaver Wake"

This a beaver was taken at Brown Bridge Pond in Grand Traverse County in north western lower Michigan. This was a truely beautifull fall day around the time of peak color in 1999. Brown Bridge Pond is one of my favorite photographic locations as is evident by the number of photos taken at or near there on this page. Photo taken on Ektachome E100VS.

Fall Milkweed "Fall Milkweed"

This photo was taken a couple miles from Brown Bridge Pond mentioned above. In fact it was taken earilier the same day as th e photo above in 1999. The small image does not show the true nature of the photo. The depth of field is pleasently narrow on this photo. Taken on Ektachome E100VS with Program mode on my X700.

Brown Bridge Pond Ripples "Brown Bridge Pond Ripples"

This photo, also taken at Brown Bridge Pond really catured the ripples in the water just as I saw them. This image was taken on the bluff at overlooks the northeast end of the pond. Photo taken on Ektachome E100VS.

New Buffalo Sunset I "New Buffalo Sunset I"

Taken July 31, 1999 in New Buffalo, Michigan with my X700 and Tokina AT-X 80-200 Zoom on Konica Impresa 50. I had the exposure compension set for one stop more exposure then the meter suggested. This image was scanned from a 4 x 6 inch print.

New Buffalo Sunset II "New Buffalo Sunset II"

Also taken July 31, 1999 in New Buffalo, Michigan on the Lake Michigan shoreline with my X700 and Vivitar Series I 28-105 zoom on the same roll of Konica Impresa 50 as above. The Impresa 50 is awesome, I had the image blown up to 24 x 36 inches on a CSI Lightjet 5000 photo printer and it is hung in my livingroom. The detail is amazing. This image was scanned in using a HP PhotoSmart S20 film scanner. The image really has a lot of shadow detail if you adjust it, check it out by clicking here.

Hole in the Sky "Hole in the Sky"

The middle of a sequence of three exposures, this awsome scene was caught on Konica Impresa 50 with my Minolta X700 and Vivitar Series I 28-105 zoom at about 40mm. The X700 was in program mode. One must see the larger image...

Brown Bridge Pond Morning "Brown Bridge Pond Morning"

Taken with my Minolta X700 and Vivitar Series I 28-105 zoom on Kodak Gold 100 on a nice fall morning. This "pond" is actually man made by an earthen dam outside of Traverse City, Michigan. I was standing on the dam when I took this photo. The image was scanned onto a PhotoCD then resized to fit here.

Fall Morning "Fall Morning"

Taken with my Minolta X700 and Vivitar Series I 28-105 zoom on Kodak Gold 100 on about 15 minutes before the above picture. The sun was just starting to peek above a line of trees behind me and made this great scene on the frost covered grass and the clouds in the background. The image was scanned onto a PhotoCD just as above.

The Dune Tree - Sleeping Bear Dunes "The Dune Tree"

This tree graces the side of the climbing dune at Sleeping Bear Dunes outside of Empire, Michigan. This photo was captured using my trusty Minolta X700 and Vivitar Series I 28-105 zoom at 28mm. This photo could stand some cropping but I thought I would post the whole image.

Foggy Park Scene "Foggy Park"

Taken early spring 1986. I consider this one of the first worthwhile photo's I've taken. The camera was a 35mm Mayima on 400 speed Kodak film.
